Pink Martini

 Two favorites from Pink Martini-
*...somewhere between a 1930s Cuban dance orchestra, a classical chamber music ensemble, a Brasilian marching street band and Japanese film noir is the 12-piece Pink Martini.....an urban musical travelogue...*

Kikuchiyo to Mohshimasu  [her name was Kikuchiyo] ~ Pink Martini

Kikuchiyo to mohshimasu
Shiroi unaji ni yurete ita
Naito kurabu no aoi hi yo
Daite odoreba yasashii kata ga
Nazeka kanshiku, nazeka kanashiku
Furueteta... furueteta

...a mysterious and sad geisha who goes into a nightclub, dances with the protagonist, steals his heart, and slips off into the night, never to be heard from again- so melancholic!

Ninna Nanna Marinare [Sleep, sleep sailor] ~ Pink Martini

Ninna nanna marinare
'Ngopp a varca, miezo o mare
Io te parl e nun respunn
Te si perze miez o suonn

...Sleep, sleep sailor, On the boat, in the middle of the sea, I speak to you, but you don't answer...You are lost in your dreams...

I adore Pink Martini's holiday music as well and it is amongst my favorite to play while I'm decorating for Christmas. I love what you have so far here and I can't wait to read more!
